Who is -
De Jonge Design Studio focuses on residential architecture that is simple, healthy, and integrates into your site and lifestyle. Established by Sam DeJonge, the studio's design-based process seeks to draw attention to hand-crafted detail + craftsmanship. Sam's design approach draws from family ties in wooden furniture, boat building, and finish carpentry. His father, a graduate of the Landing School in Maine, and his grandfather a wooden furniture hobbyist, began Sam's passion for handcrafted woodworking & fine craftsmanship. This upbringing refined the detail focused approach he uses to curate designs that draw from local context + climate, respond intentionally to light, incorporate Shaker-like material palettes, celebrate fine details, and establish healthy principles.
Sam received his Masters of Architecture degree from Lawrence Technological University in 2019. He is currently writing his exams in pursuit of licensure.
